CPP Investments is a global investment management organization that invests the assets of the Canada Pension Plan. Private Equity (PE) is responsible for all of CPPIB's private investments globally, excluding real assets. PE is comprised of four investment groups: Direct Private Equity, Private Equity Asia, Private Equity Funds, and Secondaries. Direct Private Equity (DPE) is a long-term investor, focused on making direct investments in private companies across North America and Europe. DPE considers the full spectrum of ownership structures from passive, minority positions up to 100% control. Private Equity Asia (PE Asia) focuses on private equity investments in the Asia Pacific region through funds, direct investments and secondaries. For direct investments, PE Asia invests in private Asian companies alongside private equity fund partners (GPs) and certain qualified non-GP partners.
